Pre-Cal....hardest class of my life [01 Feb 2005|05:31pm]
[ mood | distressed ]
[ music | Fall Out Boy- Saturday ]

Second day of new classes...

Spanish...boy...they speak alot of Spanish...a little too much for my liking. What happened to the spanglish of spanish III. I got a lot of people in there...Kay B, Sarah Dev, Catano, Aaron Carr, Bobby, AVD.

Same ol' history with the same ol' Heiser.

Pre-Cal...Joe Aftanis, ZJ, and Dylz...hardest class I've ever sat through. Apparently we are on review, and I have no clue whats going on.

And thats the new classes with a lunch and a study hall in there. Early dismisal here I come baby.

So whats the greatest invention that a guitar player can have? A capoe is right. I just got one yesterday for $4 and it has totally changed my life.

I am in admist of beautiful chords.

I need a guitarist or piano player that can SING (most important part) for this acoustic thing I'm working on...help me find one please.

[ music | Fall Out Boy- Grand Theft Autumn (Where is Your Boy?) ]

The weekend was a nice break from the hustle and bustle of life. Didn't do much...recorded and practiced today. We are offically done.....with the music. Just gotta finish the vocals and we will be all set.
Practice was fun. We jammed to Bang Bang by Dispatch for about a half hour and transitioned it into Ashes Fall...hmmmm....live show idea.

I've been singing the Fall Out Boy song for about 5 hours now...

I didnt have a good myspace picture, so i just used one of Willie, my black busdriver from JCC last summer. It's only temporary, but I figure I'll get more girls with his picture than mine.

[ music | Gavin DeGraw- (Nice to Meet You) Anway ]

Do I even have friends anymore? It just seems that I see people in school...say hi, and than never speak to them again. And no, this isn't singling out one person, cause I know they are going to think its them....It's everyone that I have come in contact with. I'm just tired of always having to call people, and never be called in return. Am I the only one that wants to hang out? or is it like a :glance at the phone, see it says Jordan, sigh, to a friend: You pick it up. No, you pick it up. Or maybe you guys just want to avoid that sorta conflict all together and just not answer your phone. I just hate being on everyone else's time. When and where its good for them, and I am always eager to please or else I'll be stuck at home. People call when they want too and dont bother to think....hey we have everyone here....but something's missing....Oh thats right...I left my wallet in the car! :Joking laugh: I can't believe I was stupid enough to leave my wallet in the car, I'm so embaressed. So mean while, everyone is off having a blast with their friends and either forget or don't even bother to call me anymore. I would just like to know why, and will this be continuing for the rest of highschool?

god i cant wait till college..most defintley out of state.

[ music | The Cure- Just Like Heaven ]

It's so good not to have school since 9:15 yesterday morning. Dont have to go back till Monday, the class from hell (english) is over...pulled through that shit with an 89. Smooth sailing (hopefully) for the rest of the year. Lacrosse practice starts in a little more than 2 weeks. I get my license a week from monday. Everything just seems to be peaceful right now.

Went with Andrew and Tom to Villa...the roof of my mouth is still burnt, but hey, the pizza is good.
Went back to Andrews where we watched Back to the Future 2....and some of Smallville (obviously Andrew's choice).

Went to band practice...jammed on a few songs.

Hung out the rest of the night watching TV and writing some new songs for myself (theres this new riff that i love).

So much to do and yet so little time as they say, and it just seems that everything is very placid and I'm content.

Whose up for some fun this weekend?

I am so bored right now, but i shouldn't be. I am swamped with work, but I dont know if i am going to do any of it. Have to study for the english final, but shes not here on one of the review days?! not cool.
History test tomorrow...terrible idea. Have to write an article for BC....terrible ideax2.

Both teams that I wanted to win lost this weekend. I am in the anti-superbowl mood...even though I still gonna watch it. Have to root for the Pats...just too much hatred for the birds...but i do congrats them on finally winning one. When you are in four you are bound to win one of them.

Take the quiz i made...cause im sure most people are just as bored as I am...its in my profile.

English final was a bitch. That prompt she gave us wasnt even close to being anything that could aid us for the test. I got a 94 on my vocab...which is good considering i had like an 87 in the class. History? Watched the D-Day invasion from Saving Private Ryan...its not bad at all...everyone's like oh man! youre going to flip...if you are reserved in watching it...its not too gross and its very accurate. Watched the whole movie after school, awesome awesome shit.

This week is going to be hectic again...

Fri- catcher test
Sat- SATS...trying to find some way out of the track meet...cause i dont feel like going
Sun- Falcons game @ 3
Tues- WWII test
Wed- English Final

A MUCH NEEDED FOUR DAY WEEKEND AFTER THAT! PLUS a new semseter...excited

however, in the span on the next couple of days I need to read a book, finish a documentary, finish my binder, and write two articles for the paper...all while trying to get into the studio to finish the last song for the demo.

Just let the semester be over and done with...all with good grades.

I hate those gas station attendants. On Wednesday coming home from recording we asked for gas...and the attendant at bp goes :in an indian voice: 4 dollas?! You want 4 dollas worth of gas?!
Very angry at the fact that we asked for a cheap amount of fuel. Last night Trav came over and we decided to get some more gas. We said we wanted 2.50 worth of gas. We look to see how many gallons that is...and before we notice its going three dollars, four dollars...13 dollars...we get out of the car and have them stop it. We go what are you doing?! And they go you say 250 worth of gas....thats $25. And were like NOOOO! we Said 2.5! Two dollars and fifty cents. This other clerk comes over and goes my partner is an idiot. So we had to pay 15 dollars worth. jerks. Guess ya had to be there.

Went to Mikey's to play some poker. Scotty, Matty, and Trav were there as well. Cleaned them out, haha. 10 dollar anty (minus trav...he only put in 2). Started at about 12...me and mikey didnt finish till 6 in the morning. I was the chip leader by alot, so I took twenty from the pot and Mikey took ten. Being up 20 dollars isnt bad for my first real time playing for money. I thank ESPN for all its taught me.

Today hung out with Ashleigh at her house. Had a real good time. Watched 16 Candles. I liked it, kinda like the Breakfast Club...both directed by John Hughes.

Mexican Food tonight...it was good. Enchiladas are good.

Ghostbusting is such an underated profession. [04 Jan 2005|11:00pm]
[ mood | stressed ]
[ music | Rooney- Sorry Sorry ]

This weekend/early week has been a huge blur that I dont even know where to begin. Ive watched so many movies in the span of like 3 days. On Saturday I went with Dan, Jordan, Brynn, and Jackie to see Spanglish...very good movie if you are more mature and can handle it. Defintley recomend seeing it. The day before that I watched Napoleon Dynamite...and i have to admit...I am a fan...a very big fan. What else did I see?....oh yes, Eternal Sunshine...AWESOME MOVIE...i had to watch it twice though, cause it was somewhat confusing. Freitag borrowed it in exchange for the killers cd and the arcade fire cd...i defintley got the better deal. I also watched Ghostbuster 2. Let me tell you something, Ghostbusting is the most underrated profession out there. Everyone wants to be a pirate or cowboy or astronaut...no my friends...it is ghostbusting that is the true american way.

I realized that I am a big dork. I realized this because i went to the Heiser review session and me, Amanda Berger, and Kay B were making jokes about FDR and Bolshevism. Yea, I also bought how to get a 5 in 5 steps on the AP test....Im a dork, what can i say.

So ive been cramming knowledge of depressions and vocabulary into my already maxed out mind. This stress just never quits. I also go, next week will be good, and than BAM! they hit you upside the head with an essay and its like a chain reaction. By monday I only need to take two tests, watch a foreign film for Freitag, write a paper on the film, read Catcher in the Rye, do some journal entries, reaserach the 50's, and do this all while going to track practice and a student council meeting, not to mention band practices and possibly more recording this weekend (we are adding a song to the demo).

Maybe next week will be more laxed.
HA! That about as true as me going out with a porn star in the next year...Although, I think Jenna Jamenson is finally going to answer the barrage of text messages that I send her.

:Fingers crossed:

[ mood | mellow ]
[ music | Earth, Wind, and Fire- Shinning Star ]

It's time to put my hair under my beanie, fold up the board shorts, and save the aviators for another sunny day. Sadly, the taste of summer vacation was short lived and now its time to get back to the cold of Jersey. THe trip was well worth it. Got to hang out with my family. It sucked that Jeff couldnt come down from Tampa...its been over a year since I saw him. Kyle was skiing in the mountains somewhere, so I didnt get a chance to chill with him. Other than that, everything was good. Some cute girl was eyeing me at the airport, but I never got the chance to talk to her.

What sucked was the fact that I just got home at like 10:30ish, so I didnt go out for New Years. I was a loser and watched the date change on my cell phone while watching Ashlee Simpson and the ball dropping. Come back next year Dick Clark!

I listened to Dave Matthews religiously with David in Florida...I cant wait till college.

I bought Napoleon Dynamite! Cant wait to watch it!

Today was just one of those days. Woke up at a good time, went to the beach with David and Daniel (my cousins). Played some volleyball, something i want to work on...I dont have too much time to play in Jersey...what with all that snow right now, plus the summer Im always working. Needless to say, I held my own pretty well. Then we played football with a bunch of seniors and college guys...despite my extremely "Athletic" ability, i ulitmately got the shit kicked out of me...yet it was still fun.

We get back to the parking garage to find that our car was towed, because the mexican dude never gave us a parking pass...which we didnt know we need. We sat there for about an hour arguing with the guy about paying for towing and this guy was the best actor. We were like who was the last shift? I dunno.
Wheres your boss? I dunno. How do you get paid? I just do. He wouldnt tell us his name. My aunt BITCHED that mofo out when she came to pick our asses up. It was entertaining yet stressful at the same time.

My flight leaves for Jersey at 6ish, so i ll be home at around 10ish. If nothing pans out then oh well, I still have the weekend to live. However, if something is going down, please let me know...I would enjoy spending some time with the Jeresians.

I always get depressed leaving Florida, because the 10's at in Jersey are about 6's in the Sunshine State.

[ music | Dave Matthews Band- Best of What's Around ]

I wish i coulda updated two days ago, cause that airport experience was somewhat of a comical time. Right now Im just hanging in the Springs with my Beer drinking college cousins. Its like full house. About 70% of the time, my entire family is at my one aunts house where we are staying. This includes my two grandparents, 3 aunts, 3 uncles, 7 cousins, my brother, my parents, my cousins fiance, and 5 animals.

Went to the dolphins game yesterday. Possibly the sloppiest game i have ever witnessed. The worst play I have seen came in the third quarter. Dolphins intercept the pass, pitch it back on the ground, recover, pitch back again on the ground, recover, then fumbled while being hit. The browns recovered. The dolphins prevailed on a 51 yard field goal by Mare with 12 seconds left. 10-7 was the final. The dolphins increase there win streak to 2...the longest of the season. 4-11 baby!

Today me and my cousin went to the mall in Miami. It was crowded. Met some of his frat brothers, cool dudes.

My cousin wants me to go to University of Florida...could jordan gersh be living in Florida for 4 years? Can anyone see that?

THe day went by sorta slow despite it being a half day. Then we had an easy practice of only handoffs...which was exceptionally nice. Today's my bday and tomorrows florida. Im excited.

Last night I slept over Mikey P's. Hung out with Jim, Mikey, Scottie, and Wayne. Roasted some mallows, played some hallo 2, watched SWAT.

[ music | John Mayer- Daughters ]

Know what word I hate? I hate the word hot. Its such a terrible word. How can hot mean cool? They are complete opposites! I just think its a ridiculous way to describe someone...Yo, check that girl out...shes HOT! I think we should use the word attractive...its so much cooler. Yo, brothaman, she is so attractive...I just want to do the nasty. How good does that sound?

Slang has lost its edge, so me and lauren made up a new list.

Jordan and Lauren's slang words Vol. 1

Retaaaank- dsigusting, nasty (ex.) She is so retaaaank, seems like she hasnt showered in a year.
Resplado- cool, awesome (ex.) That jordan gersh is so resplado, all the chick want him.
Trumption- fat, large (ex.) Did you see that girl...she was as trumption as a horse
Janglin'- off the hook (ex.) That new rushmore cd is JANGLIN'!
Slizzerk- sexy, attractive (ex.) At 99% of the female population thinks jordan gersh is slizzerk.

Use these in your vocab at least 8 times each daily to ensure that you are Janglin. If you fail to use these words, or use these words incorrectly...you are subject for a smirtton (Thats slang for beat down).

I'm wallowing in self pity after that one.

Andrew picked me up at like 8:30 and we went to Cold Stone with Michelle, Steph, Jackie, Heidi, and Amanda. Andrew, Michelle, and me left and went to Rob's house. Tom, Dan, Steve C, Steve K, and Corey were there playing poker so we all just hung out.

[ music | Gavin DeGraw- Follow Through ]

Alright, so last night was our first recording session with Bogacki and Nick of Epsilon. You know that really shitty cd that we sold and said it was our demo? Yea, this puts that to shame at least 200000 times. The recording is so good, and the guys are awesome.

I've come to realize...actually I overheard Nick talking about it, but it seems so true...that the saying "my one and only" is a total load of crap. Think about it...there are probablly over 200 people that are considered "the perfect one." If i were to move to New York, Florida, California, or even fuckin Idaho...i could still find someone that was right for me. So as of this day...December 16th, 2004 at exactly 10:50...ive come to the realization that having a girlfriend at this age is not all that important, while sure it is nice to have affection from someone, but its not neccessary. I have so much more to look foward to right now than just getting ass...which isnt bad. Girlfriends come and go, but friends stay forever as does the band. That sounds cliche, but come on people...stop having an unbalanced schedule were your signifigant other takes up most of your time...in these days, you are going to break up in a couple of months...there are those rare cases of over a year...or the 1 in 1000 chance that youll marry the person. So while relationships are good, I just think we need to balance it all better.

Yep...spoken like a true single man. Haha.

So how about this, I read The Great Gatsby...not only is it a good straightfoward book, I just have to give myself a pat on the back...Its the first book Ive actaully read this school year. I did read one of the three assigned summer books...so I'm 2 for 5. Florida in 9 days? That sounds right...we leave on Christmas day.

December 24th? Oh yea...thats my birthday.
I think its pretty accurate that I'm right ahead of Jesus on the calendar.

Aight, so, I finsihed my DBQ with an hour left to spare before I go to bed. I think it is good, hopefully the grade will show that.

Why do I even care? Me and Baggs have realized that school has just become way to tedious right now. After three years of the same shit, with the same people...it gets old. Not that Im dissing my friends, cause I love them all...maybe I just need a change of scenery.

So lets recap the weekend...Friday: sat around.
Saturday: Track practice at 11:30 in the am. Oh boy, when you dont have an all weather track and its pouring out...its kinda hard to run with only two dry spots on the entire 400. Plus, it was a hard practice. Uniforms tomorrow though, hopefully Ill get to run in some varsity meets this year on the relay team. 600, 400, and 2 200...kinda tiring. Went to my grandmas for Chanukkah. Saw my aunt, uncle, and cousins. It was nice.
We got home semi-late, then went over to Connors for a pretty good BBQ. Lots of people were there, and we played strip poker, but alas...only Duckie would get naked...not the greatest of the sights.

Today I spent the day typing the essay. Becky came over for a little bit in the middle of watching football. It was extremly nice to see her again, considering i havent seen her since our whole fiasco at the end of work in the summer.

We record tomorrow and it should be awesome. I'm looking foward to it!

2.5 Mile run. What a great way to end the day. When Petras wrote that on the board I thought I was going to die, seeing as how I haven't really ran since the summer. I was even able to keep up with the fast black dudes, granted it wasn't sprinting just yet. I still feel acomplished and really look foward to what I would have imagined to be a dreadful winter track season.

Earthtone's new cd is coming out soon...anxious to hear that. Plus, the sooner they are done recording, the faster we can get in and start.

Not too much to say, except that my English teacher totally screwed us over. We were suppose to read the Great Gatsby by Dec 13, but today she realized she made a mistake and now we have to read it by next Tues...the entire book. It would have been nice to have known about this change before the weekend, so I could have started it then...shes such a ditz.
